Fleet Driver Courses

Our fleet driver training courses are designed and tailored to your company's specific requirements.  Whether you are self employed sole trader or a large international company we are committed to increasing road safety and reducing occupational road risk to you and your fleet drivers.

Your goal is to have your company benefit from the training received and our goal is to provide the very best advanced, defensive and ECO friendly driver training to you and your fleet drivers.

All fleet driver training is provided by an experienced fully qualified DSA Approved Driving Instructor and qualified and registered as a DSA Fleet Driver Trainer.  DSA Approved Driving Instructors and Fleet Driver Trainers are CRB checked and subject to checks by the DSA to ensure instructional competence and standards are maintained to a very demanding level.

To create an environment where the driver is the focal point of the session training is usually on a 1:1 basis. This also allows for confidentiality amongst colleagues to be maintained. In such focused sessions the driver will undertake far more intensive and personally structured on the road training than someone in a higher ratio training group.  At your request we will accommodate a higher ratio of up to 3:1.

Courses usually follow the format below:

Course Introduction

The course starts with a short presentation outlining occupational road risk, the latest casualty statistics and what each driver can do to reduce road risk.

Driver Assessment

Each driver will undertake a short assessment drive which will identify areas of weakness and allow for a personal training plan and objectives to be set.

Driver Training

Any areas of weakness laid down in the training plan will be addressed and depending on the level of improvements made training will proceed to advanced, ECO friendly and defensive driving techniques.  Health and Safety requirements are usually satisfied during the training session.

Driver Report

A full driver report, highlighting areas of weakness, improvements gained after training and remaining risk factors will be provided to management to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2007, indicating a duty of care to the driver has been established.

If requested, a report copy will also be issued to the driver.

Driver assessments should ideally be undertaken:

  • as part of the interview/candidate selection process
  • with employees who, as part of their job description, are expected to drive
  • annually, as part of an ongoing occupational road risk management process, demonstrating a duty of care to the driver is being maintained.

Training costs

1:1 courses are based on a 3 hour session, comprising of the presentation, in-car assessment and subsequent driver specific training.  The daily rate (2 drivers, 1:1 training sessions) is £200.

Fleet Managers - Try before you buy

It may be a challange convincing your company to embrace this type of training. We recognise this and to help, we offer fleet managers the opportunity to undertake a training session to see just how it works and how the company may benefit.  To facilitate this, fleet managers may book a 2 hour trial session and pay just £60.
