Are you ready to learn to drive?
In order to learn to drive you must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid signed provisional driving licence. The only exception to this are those who receive Disability Living Allowance who are allowed to drive from the age of 16.
Your health and eyesight requirements
Before commencing any driving course you have to be medically fit and able to read a number plate from 20 meters. The older style number plate (pre 2001) should be read from 20.5 meters. This should be done with corrected vision if needed which will be recorded on your licence.
